Hospitality Furniture Trends to Watch in 2026
By Maple Furniture Design Studio · 7 min read
Hotel design briefs are shifting away from stark minimalism toward what designers are calling 'warm minimalism' — restrained forms paired with tactile, natural materials: raw oak, linen, unlacquered brass, and hand-finished stone.
We're also seeing a rise in regionally sourced material specifications, driven both by sustainability commitments and by guests' growing appetite for a sense of place. Manufacturers who can offer traceable, regionally appropriate material options — without slowing down production schedules — have an advantage in RFPs for 2026 openings.
Finally, modularity is becoming a specification requirement rather than a nice-to-have: hotel groups increasingly want casegoods platforms that can be re-finished or partially replaced during a soft renovation, rather than fully re-procured.
