Export Packing Engineering, Explained

By Maple Furniture Logistics Team · 5 min read

Furniture that survives a showroom rarely survives a shipping container without engineering the packaging as carefully as the product itself. Ocean freight exposes goods to vibration, humidity swings, and repeated handling across multiple ports.

For every new SKU, our packing engineers design a dedicated foam or corner-protection profile, drop-tested before approval. Cartons are sized to the exact product footprint to prevent movement in transit, and moisture-indicator cards are included in shipments bound for high-humidity destinations.

Container loading plans are engineered to maximise cube utilisation without stacking pressure on finished surfaces — often the difference between a shipment that arrives ready to install and one that requires costly on-site rework.
